Laurie Sue Eckert, 57, of Unadilla, passed away unexpectedly, Friday evening, March 8, 2019 at Albany Medical Center, following a short and devastating illness.

Laurie was born on April 30, 1961 in Sidney, the daughter of Lyle and Charlotte (Gordon) Conway. She was a graduate of Walton Central School, class of 1979. She was formerly employed at Delaware Valley Hospital as an inhalation specialist and later at Mead-Westvaco as a packer.

Laurie loved the outdoors and enjoyed horseback riding, dancing, playing cards, riding 4 wheelers and dirt bikes and snowmobiling. She also was an accomplished baker and cook who could make very tasty banana bread, Christmas cookies and calico beans. She also enjoyed family times of BBQ and family get-togethers.

Laurie is survived by her loving family, her mother Charlotte Jones, Walton; her children, Garrett & Beth Eckert, Hampton VA; Kyle Eckert & Lynn Schriver, DeLancey; and Brett Eckert, Walton; grandchildren, Ciara, Corbin, Kyla and Brayden; brother, Daryl Jones, sisters, Carin (Kevin) Wood, Walton; and Alene Jones, Sidney Center; her significant other, Javier Davila Cintron "Mickey";several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her dad, Lyle, and 2 brothers, Russ Conway and Chris Conway.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 6 to 8 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton where services will be held Saturday morning at 11 AM. Internment for Laurie will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11:00AM in Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Ave, Walton.
