Lawrence K. Underwood, Sr., 75, of Walton passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at home in Walton, following a long illness..

Larry was born on August 5, 1942 in Walton, the son of the late Kenneth and Shirley (Jump) Underwood. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force. On April 22, 1963 he married the former Sharon Neice in Walton. Larry owned and operated Underwood's Service Station, for many years. He was a member of Frank Mead Eells Post #270 VFW, the Truman C. Tobey American Legion Post # 32. and the Club Royal.

Larry enjoyed spending time with his family, pitching horseshoes. hunting, fishing, camping, winter picnic's snowmobiling, club clambakes, fast cars, and digital photography.

Larry is survived by his loving family, his wife, Sharon, children, Lawrence Kenneth (Debra) Underwood, Jr. of Walton; Neil (Joelle) Underwood of Walton; Janelle (Pete) Montgomery of Oneonta; grandchildren, Donnie, Patti, Nick, Willow, Reese, Jack, and Luke, great grandchildren, Henry, Thomas, sisters, Kathlynn Bakker of Walton; Lisa and George Haynes of Bloomville; his pups, Chucky and Violet, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and lots of special friends. He was predeceased by his sister, Rose Phoenix.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at 1 PM at the Walton Vets Club, 10 Park Street, Walton, with lunch donated by the VFW Women's Auxiliary. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
