Obituary

Leland L. "Pidge" Stanton, 68, a lifelong resident of Walton passed away unexpectedly, Friday evening, October 26, 2012 at home.

Pidge was born on November 9, 1943 in Hancock, the son of the late Robert and Charlotte (Hinkley) Stanton. He was married to the former Joyce Palmatier. He was employed for many years by Del-Met as a Machine Operator. He enjoyed playing pitch and pinochle, hunting, fishing and bowling, where he once bowled a 300.

Pidge is survived by his loving family, his wife Joyce, his children, Lynn and Michael Woodin, Trout Creek; Kim and Linsie Adderley, Charlottesville, VA; Tracy and Sam Stanton, Trout Creek, Bill Stanton, Walton, grandchildren, Devon, Ashly, Tiffany, Mikaylee, Eric, Brianna, Josh, Dustin, Tabor, Camberly, Jordan and Nathaniel; brothers, Bob Stanton, Syracuse; Ivan and Darlene Stanton, Walton, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Pidge was predeceased by a sister, Marcia Buchanan and a sister-in-law- Joan Stanton.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Monday evening, October 29, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton with the Rev. Bert More, Officiating.
