Leona "Marge" Lacey, 85, of Walton, formerly of Corbett, passed away Saturday evening, August 30, 2008 at Delaware Valley Hospital, surrounded by her family.
She was born on January 6, 1923 in Peeksville, the daughter of the late Jacob and Mary (Riechman) Young.
Mrs. Lacey married Winfield S. Lacey on February 15, 1949. They were married for 39 years until he passed away in 1988.
She worked for several different companies over the years helping to provide for her ever growing family. For over 20 years she volunteered with the Maple Leaf Program in Colchester and was presented with The Presidents Call To Service Award, presented by USA Freedom Corps, Presidents Council on Service and Civic Participations
Marge was an avid Bingo player. She also enjoyed the Christmas season, often getting family to travel around the area to enjoy the lights and decorations. Her biggest love was for her family, she cherished the visits from her grandchildren.
Mrs. Lacey is survived by five sons, Scott (Lorraine) Lacey, Binghamton, Bill (Janet) Lacey, Silas Lacey, Terry Lacey, all of Walton, Jerry Lacey, Downsville; four daughters, Shirley (Gary) Chase, Walton, Patty Lacey, Sidney, Gloria Sherburne, Walton, Donna Ruff, Norwich; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husband Winfield, Marge was predeceased by her children, Thomas, Marion and Ronald Lacey.
Friends may call on the family from 12pm until 2pm on Tuesday afternoon, September 2, 2008 at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton, where a funeral service will follow at 2pm with the Rev. Dale Ashby officiating. Burial will be at Paige Cemetery, Downsville.
