LeRoy W. Neice, 74 of Walton, passed away Thursday morning, October 13, 2005 at Delaware Valley Hospital, Walton.
Roy was born in Walton, on June 28, 1931 , the son of Earl and Alice Cranston Neice. He was a graduate of Walton High School. On May 1, 1952 he married Frances "Faye" Campbell in the parsonage of the Walton Reformed Presbyterian Church. He served in the Army, and later in the Army Reserves as Company Commander of Company D, Walton as Captain. .
He owned the former Friendly Tavern, the Imperial Lounge, and the Crown Motel. Roy was a former member of the Walton Lodge # 559 F.&A.M., Walton Fire Dept and EMS, Trout Creek EMS, US Army Retired Officers Assn., and the Walton Vererans Club. He was also a former member of the United Presbyterian Church of Walton, and the First Presbyterian Church of Loris, South Carolina. Roy, who was known for his wit, enjoyed entertaining his friends at the Imperial Lounge, and Friendly Tavern. He loved gardening, both vegetables and flowers, golfing, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife: Faye Neice, his mother, Alice Neice, Delhi; two sons: Chris L Neice and his wife Kathleen; and Clark A Neice and his wife Dixie, both of Hamden; two sisters: Nadine Hoyt and her husband William, of Walton; Sharon Underwood, and her husband Larry of Walton; , one brother: James Neice, and his wife Barbara, of Florida; 5 grandchildren, Lisa Levene; Tina Backus; Benji Neice; Andrea Neice; and Sally Neice, 4 great-grandchildren, Ariel, Bianca, Kaden, and Tylar, a sister-in-law, LuAnn Neice, Walton, several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Earl, and a brother, Howard.
In keeping with Roy's wishes, there will be no public services. Burial will take place in Walton Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.
Memorial Contributions in Roy's memory may be made to Walton EMS, or Trout Creek EMS. Envelopes for memorial contributions are available by contacting the funeral home.
