Leroy Frances Odell was born May 16, 1925, in Delhi, NY, O'Dell became the spelling of the surname for most of the family, at some point.

He married Georgianna Beismer in Delhi, October 27, 1947.

He served in the Army in World War II with the 79th "Cross of Lorraine" Infantry Division, 331st Regiment, 4th Weapons Platoon as a mortar & machine gun ammo carrier throughout the European Theatre of Operations.

He worked, for 35 years, at Del Met, formerly Del Krome, in Walton.

Fishing and hunting were the things he enjoyed most and even when not doing that he often spent time alone in the woods. He was generally an active person and usually had a variety of projects that he was working on around the house.

Many nieces, nephews and grandchildren have expressed their fond memories of working outside with him on projects like mixing concrete or going fishing with him or watching movies or TV shows together.

He died at Chenango Memorial Hospital in Norwich, NY, February 4, 2022, at age 96.

He is survived by his two daughters: Lorraine O'Dell of Lake Hiawatha, NJ and Susan Panioli of Stone Mt., GA; his sister, Elizabeth Hall of Meridale, NY; his grandson Jeremiah Clancy of NJ and granddaughter, Amy Panioli of GA; and his great granddaughter, Ella Clancy of NJ; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 1PM at Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton with Pastor Larry Light, officiating.
