Leslie F. Kirk, 52, of Walton passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at his home.
Leslie was born on September 6, 1962 the son of the late Wesley and Saddie (Burger) Kirk in Binghamton, New York. Leslie married the former Carlene E. White on August 10, 1996 at the Delhi American Legion.
Leslie took pleasure in cooking, baking, and entertaining people. He enjoyed woodworking and various construction projects. He had a great sense of humor and always loved a good joke. Les enjoyed going to church functions just as much as riding his four wheeler and dirtbike. Those who knew Les would consider him a caring people- person who loved animals and especially his family.
Leslie is survived by his loving family, his wife, Carlene, his step-children, Crystal (Derrick) Barringer of Walton; DJ (Lora) Barringer of Walton; Ryan (Aimee) Barringer of Walton; his grandchildren, Lauren, Laci, Kiyanna, Baylee, James, Kaitlyn, Alyssa, Malachi, his brothers, Tommy (Susan) Kirk of Oneonta and Wesley Kirk, his sisters, Patty May of Oneonta; Joanne (Troy) Roseboom of Butternuts; his mother-in-law; Estella White of Delhi; his father-in-law, Ellis White of Walton; several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, neices, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his biologiocal parents, his foster parents James and Velma Alger, his brother-in-law, Murray May, and his nephew, Justin Geraghty.
Friends and family are invited to call on Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 5 PM to 7PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 11AM at the Oneonta Assembly of God, 1667 County Road 48, Oneonta with the Rev. John Grenier, officiating.
Memorial Contributions in Leslie's memory may be made to an Animal Shelter of one's choice.
