Lewis C. Jones Sr., 88 a lifelong resident of Walton passed away at home Saturday morning, January 22, 2005, after a long illness.

Mr. Jones was born in the Town Of Colchester, the son of the late Edmund and Alice Brown Jones. He married the former Helen Jubar August 5, 1943 at Trenton, NJ. He served in the Army Air Corps during WW-II .

He was a mechanic, employed by Breakstone´s, Walton retiring in 1982.

Lew loved to hunt, hike and was good at putting together puzzles. He was famous for his homemade donuts, and reading his Bible.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen, two daughters: Florence and her husband Carl Amey of Lockwood, NY, Lenore and her husband Stephen Dutcher of Walton, NY, four sons: Edmund Jones of Walton, Lewis Jr. and his wife Donna Jones of Walton, Stephen and his wife Reva Jones,Walton one brother: John Shaver of Walton, 8 grandchildren, David and Donna Amey; Stephen, Clint, and Walter Jones, Dina Kirly, Stephen, and Hannah Dutcher, 4 great-grandchildren, Mason, Lauren, Joshua, and Jonathan, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Ray, Paul, and George Jones, 2 sisters, Oleta Benedict, and Alice Nichols. He was also predeceased by his adoptive parents, Chester and Edna Moffett.

Friends and family are invited to call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Tuesday January 25, 2005 at the Pinesbrook Baptist Church where services will be held at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Carl Butler, officiating.

Burial will be in Walton Cemetery, in the spring.
