Linda S. Fitch, 58, of Walton passed away early Saturday morning, September 19, 2015 at home, surrounded by her family, following a long and courageous fight with breast cancer. .

Linda was born on June 22, 1957 in Middletown, the daughter of the late Richard H. and Marion J. (Lewis) Smith. On June 3, 1978 she married Kenneth Fitch. Linda attended Walton Central School and was employed for many years at Papa's Diner, working in the kitchen. Prior to working at Papa's she worked at the Rainbow Lodge and Catskill Mills.

Linda will be remembered as a kind soul who enjoyed living the farm life with Ken and her family. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, watching TV and playing video games during her illness. She was an advocate of breast cancer awareness.

Linda is survived by her loving family, her husband: Ken; her children, Richard Smith, and Kenneth Fitch, both of Walton; William and Shonna Fitch, Little Falls, NY; grandchildren, RJ, Kurkland, and Saryha; brothers, Henry Smith, Walton; Samuel and Joann Smith, Sidney Center; and Michael Smith, Walton; sisters, Verna and Milton Fitch, Walton; Melora McDonald, Deposit; and Margaret Smith, Boston, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Audrey Smith on January 11, 2013.

A graveside service will be held in Walton Cemetery at a future date.
