Lorin R. Skiff, 73, of Walton passed away on Friday, January 29, 2016 at home in Walton.

Lorin was born June 10, 1942 in New Bedford, MA. the son of the late Lorin C. and Doris (Gentilhomme) Skiff. He proudly served in the U. S. Army from 1964 to 1970. On August 5, 1972 he married the former Joyce Martin in Walton, NY.

Lorin was a Self Employed Property Manager in Walton, NY. He was a member of the American Legion Truman C. Tobey Post #32 in Walton and was active with his parents in the Delaware County Fair. He had a lifetime love of horses. Lorin loved spending time with his family and friends, close friends, and dog Wiley.

Lorin is survived by his loving family, his wife, Joyce, daughter, Denise Nicole (Jacob) Mead of Monterrey, Mexico; sisters, Mary (David) Keesler of Owings Mills, MD; Doreen (William) Oles of Walton; grandson, Samuel Lorin Mead, special friends, Paul Mariano, Elmer Decker, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and in law family. He was predeceased by his uncle, Roger Gentilhomme, and nephew, Adam Oles.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton where a Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at 11 AM with Rev. Edward J. Golding, officiating.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Monday, May 16, 2016 at 1PM at the Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton with Rev. Edward J. Golding, officiating.
