Louie was a well known, well liked quarryman in Delaware County and beyond. He had a deep love of and was an advocate for all animals, especially his girls, Nana, Tibi, Bibi, and Kiki. Those who really knew him recognized the kind, caring, gentleman that he was. He had a huge heart and was a non-judgemental and accepting soul. Louie had many friends and enjoyed a good joke. He will be sorely missed.

Kole Sr. and his companion Mary McGrane, Margaretville, his grand daughters, Ciandra and Zenida Lowe, Arizona, Arianna and Rebecca Kole, along with their mother, Christine Kole, Andes, Tierra Kole, Arkville, and Natalie Willig, Pennsylvania, and grandson, Gabriel Willig, Pennsylvania. Louie is also survived by by his mother-in-law, Bettie (Stafford) Smith, Sister in laws Taya C. Whiteside, Jerri-Lynne Farney, Joy (Robert) Anderson, and Tricia (Robert) Wardlow, all of Florida, brother in laws, James W. Smith, and Tad (Pamela) Smith, an Aunt, Andrea Van Fleet, Arkville, nieces, Brook and Breanna Wardlow, nephews, Pheral Pierce, Luke Anderson, Joshua Smith, and his special nephew Chase Whiteside, and his "Little Bud" Haven Smith. He was predeceased by his dear mother, Elizabeth, and the love of his life and daughter, Rachel Serena Kole on September 14, 1997.
It was Louie's wish that he be cremated. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday April 21, 2005, at Walton Cemetery with the Rev. E. J. Lowell, officiating. Christine Kole of Andes will be in attendance representing Tina. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
Louie would like to be remembered by contributions to any non kill animal shelter, or by simply doing something nice for someone. It was also his request that his friends not buy flowers, plant some instead. For the last time, as Louie would say, "Later"
