Louis A. Valentine, a lifetime resident of Dunk Hill in Walton passed away Monday afternoon, July 9, 2007 at Countryside Care Center after a two year battle with cancer.

Louis was born on Dunk Hill on August 29th, 1938 to the late Ernest and Lena Valentine. He married Patricia Gardepe on April 29th, 1967.

He worked for the town of Delhi for 25 years as a heavy equipment operator. However his true love was farming. Nothing brought him more joy in life than watching over his small heard or as he referred to them, his "babies".

Louis is survived by his wife, Pat of Walton, his son Scott and wife Jennifer (Neale) Valentine of Virginia, two grandsons: Aiden and Brock, his brother Ernest and Clarice (Nichols) Valentine of Delhi, his brother Carl and Barbara Valentine of Bullhead City, Arizona, his sister Dixie and Ule Grant of Bullhead City, Arizona, and several nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lena Valentine of Walton and his sisters Barbara Hunt of Unadilla and Betty Moss of Walton.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Thursday evening, July 12th from 6 to 8 PM at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton.

A graveside service will be held at the Walton Cemetery on Friday, July 13th, at 1:30pm, with the Reverend Bert Moore and Reverend Don Grossman officiating.

His family would like to thank all who have assisted Louis throughout his illness for their many acts of kindness and caring.
