Obituary

Louise A. Getz, 69, of Walton NY passed away at home, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, April 5th, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Louise was born August 4, 1946 in Passaic NJ. She was the daughter of the late Louis and Mary Anderczyk. On January 25th, 1964 she married the love of her life, James Getz, in Clifton NJ.

Louise worked many years in retail. She later worked at Glen Arden in Goshen NY and then at Countryside Care Center in Delhi, NY. She was very passionate about her work and the residents she cared for.

She enjoyed fishing, vacationing at historical places, and antiquing; however, her greatest passion in life was caring for her home and family. Louise gave her whole heart to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchild.

Louise leaves behind her loving husband James of 52 years, her daughters Lisa Potter and husband Richard of New Berlin NY and Lorraine Mabee and husband Matthew of Westtown NY; five grandchildren, Amanda Lyons and boyfriend Jared Mongillo, John J Lyons, Aaron Mabee, Evan Mabee, and Kyle Mabee; her step-granddaughter Caren Potter ; great granddaughter Cecilia Mongillo; one brother, Robert Anderczyk of Alabama; three sisters, Carol Wilson of Alabama, Gloria Laurentino of New Jersey and Kathleen Galione and her husband Salvatore of New Jersey; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves behind her long time close friends Sam and Grace Phillips of Pennsylvania. She was predeceased by her close friend and coworker of many years, Verna Fitch.

Friends and family are invited to call on Sunday afternoon, April 10, 2016 from 2 to 3 pm at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton, NY where services will be held at 3pm with Rev. Garrett Mercier and Rev. Ernie Varga officiating.
