Lyle T. Daniels Sr., 69 a long time resident of Walton, passed away early Saturday morning, March 31, 2007, at home surrounded by his family.
Lyle was born in Franklin, on March 20,1938 the son of the late Frank and Dorothy Kelsey Daniels. He was a graduate of Walton Central School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. On August 25, 1962 he married the former Dorothy M. Finch in the Baptist parsonage in Walton. Lyle was self employed for many years as an insurance agent. He always enjoyed visiting with people everywhere he went. He also loved working around his home in the yard.
Lyle is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Dorothy, 2 daughters, Deborah Sulger, Guilford; Cynthia (David) Rausch, Hamden; a son Lyle Jr. (Donna), Bainbridge; grandchildren, Donald, Shane, Alicia, Megan, Zachary, Rachel, Travis, Kaitlyn, Derrick, Justin; a brother, Dean (Barbara) Daniels, Walton; 1 sister, Linda Smith, Walton, brother and sister in laws, Barbara Beardsley, Norwich; Katherine (James) Bell, Jeanette (Art) Cash, Carol (Gary) Gregory, all of Walton; Agnes Carson, S. New Berlin; Nettie ( Ed) Kelley, Laverne (Grace) Finch, Margaret (Ronnie) Cammer, all of Sidney; several nieces, nephews, and cousins, his good friends, Dale Tweedie, Milt and Dick Northrup, Keith Davis, Danny Hodges, and his beloved cocker spaniel, Abbey.
Friends and family are invited to call on Tuesday, April 3, 2007 from 11 AM to Noon at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton, where services will be held at Noon with the Rev. Jay O'Connor, officiating.
Burial will follow at Walton Cemetery with full military honors.
The family would like to thank all the people at Hospice who did such a wonderful job of taking care of Lyle in the last days of his illness.
