Marguerite P. Hoag,"Rita" 82, of Walton passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City.

Marguerite was born on January 22, 1932 in Merrickville, NY the daughter of the late Harold and Madaline H. "Nettie" (Hendrickson) Place. On August 30, 1953 she married Donald W. Hoag.

Marguerite worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Delaware County Department of Social Services. She was a member of CSEA for many years and was a secretary there. She was a member of the Meridale Community Church and New Hope Community Church. Marguerite taught Sunday school and was a Youth Group Leader. She spent time everyday reading the BIBLE. She took pleasure in doing crossword puzzles, going for walks, tending to her vegetable and flower gardens and going berry picking. Marguerite treasured spending time with her loving family and grandchildren.

Marguerite is survived by her loving family; her husband, Donald, her daughters, Debra Hadley of Charlotte, NC; Mary (Raymond "Jug") Kilmer of Walton, NY; her grandchildren, Lisa and Jacob Gay, Christopher and Krystine Hadley, Mandy Kilmer and Jeffrey Lambrecht, her great-grandchildren, Makayla and Ty Lambrecht, Olivia, Lucy and Flora Gay, Teresa, Maya and Sebastian Hadley, Bryttni and Preston Gardepe, Brydget, Dylon, and Devynn Mager; her great-great grandchildren Jordan, Owen, Arabella and Preston Jr., and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Francis "Tuffy" and her sister-in-law Frances Place.

Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 10 AM to 11AM at the New Hope Community Church, 45 Stockton Ave., Walton. A Funeral service will follow at 11AM with Rev. Larry Light, officiating.
