Marilyn A. Whitehead, 72, a longtime resident of Downsville, formerly of Queens, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Fox Hospital in Oneonta.

Marilyn was born on May 7, 1939 in Flushing, NY the daughter of the late Robert Thrush and Harriet (Kessler) Schneider. She married Fred Whitehead on February 12, 1977 at St. Joseph's Episcopal Church in Queens Village.

Marilyn was employed as a Registered Nurse in Harris, New York for the Sullivan Diagnostic Team for several years. Marilyn was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church in Walton, and their EWC. In her spare time she enjoyed going to knitting group at Peakes Brook and sewing.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband, Fred, her children, Brian (Sara) Connelly, Mary Alice Connelly all of Zephyrhills, FL; her grandchildren, Caleb, Ashlynn, Jacob, her cousins, Bill Szekely of Massachusetts; Frances and Frank Franken Bendera, her brother in law, James Whitehead, Long Island. She was predeceased by her parents, her stepbrother, Robert Schneider, her stepfather, Charles Schneider, and the father of her children, Edward Vincent Connelly, Jr.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 from 11AM to 1PM at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday afternoon, February 8 at Christ Episcopal Church, 41 Gardiner Place, Walton, NY with the Rev. Suzanne Cole, officiating. Burial will be held on July 14, 2012 at 2PM at the Paige Cemetery, Downsville, NY with the Rev. Suzanne Cole, Officiating.
