Marion R. Maurer, 84 of Walton, passed away Friday evening, March 3, 2006 in Bassett Healthcare, Cooperstown, after a long illness.

Marion was born in Brooklyn, on October 7, 1921 the daughter of the late August and Teresa Willnauer Hartman. She worked in Cunningham's Laundry, Flushing for many years. On March 4, 1948 she married Peter Maurer in Maryland. He died on February 15, 1999. She loved to go to Atlantic City on bus trips, with her sister Loretta. Marion also loved to play bingo with her friends, Myra, Buck, Rae, Lula, Doris, and Marion. During the day Marion could often be found at TA's for lunch. Marion had a heart of gold, who would always help people in any way she could.

She is survived by her sister: Loretta Nadzadi of Cobleskill, a brother in law, John and Margie Meyericks, a sister in law, Ronnie Jurens, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Monday March 6, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, Walton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Church, Benton Ave., Walton, with the Rev. Michael Flannery officiating. Burial will be in Walton Cemetery.
