Marion D. Pierce, 82, of Walton passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 13, 2017 at home.

Marion was born on January 2, 1935 in Masonville, the daughter of the late Ray and Anna (Pickett) Dean. She graduated from Sidney Central School the Class of 1952. Later in 1952 she married Carroll Pierce. He died in 1996. Her main job was a farm wife. A licensed insurance agent, she also worked for H&R Block, and owned a used furniture store in Walton where the Grama D's is located.

Marion was "everyone's grandma" who enjoyed reading and studying the Bible, and teaching Sunday School at Bob's Brook First Baptist Church. She loved to watch and feed the birds, doing word and picture puzzles, doing all kinds of crafts, and watching the food network to get a new recipe for Sunday dinners with her family.

Marion is survived by her loving family, children, Carroll (Barb) Pierce, Jr. of FL; Debbie (Erric) Boice of Walton; Stephen Pierce of Walton; Christopher (Donna) Pierce of Walton; Dawn (John) Seward of Walton; grandchildren, Nicki, Jason, Shane, Jared, Ryan, Michelle, Kyle, Amber, Abigail, Kenny, Adam, sister, Alice Sloane of Oneonta, NY; 8 great grand children, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers, Raymond, Dean, Clarence, Ernest, Millard, Thomas, sisters, Marjorie Robbins, Elinor Nicarelli, Mildred Belknap, and Anna Cuyle.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton
