Marjorie J. Dutcher, 96, a long-time Walton resident, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2007 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, NY.
Marjorie was born in Markham, Pennsylvania on October 13, 1910, the daughter of the late William and Jennie (Jacobson) Jackson.
She was employed for many years as a Nursing Assistant, by Delaware Valley Hospital, Walton. Marjorie married Maxwell Dutcher who predeceased her in 1991. She was of the Presbyterian faith.
Marjorie was an avid pinochle player and a wonderful cook. She was a superb craft person. Her daughters recall "there was nothing mom couldn't do with her hands". Traveling was important to Marjorie as was maintaining her independence, and she did both throughout her long life.
Marjorie is survived by two daughters: Mary D. (Eric) Thoreson of Midway, Kentucky, Jeannette (Gene) Wilson, Phd., of Nicholsville, Kentucky and two sons: Maxwell (Elinor) Dutcher and Robert (Elizabeth) Dutcher, both of Walton; 13 grandchildren, many great grandchildren 2 sister-in-laws, Evelyn Jackson of Oneonta, and Shirley Huyck. She was predeceased by two daughters, Evelyn Ann and Rhonda Sue, a brother, Graham Jackson, and a sister, Ida Graby.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in the Walton Cemetery. There are no prior calling hours.
Funeral arrangements are by the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
