Obituary

Marjorie S. Kite, 84, a lifelong resident of Walton went to be with the Lord and her late husband, Fred on Tuesday, July 19, 2016. She was surrounded by her family when she began her journey Home.

Marge was born in Walton on November 4, 1931, the daughter of the late Horace and Ellen Smith Schloss. On September 16, 1950 she married Fred Kite. He died on August 10, 1989.

Marge had a great many interests in her life. Her main interest was her family. A close second were the NY Mets, NY Giants, and playing cards with her family and friends. She had been an active bowler and golfer, a faithful and active member of the Walton United Presbyterian Church and her community.

Marge is survived by her loving family: her daughter and son-in-law, Valarie and Carl Vogel, Binghamton; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Cindy Kite, San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Lucas and Kristy Vogel, Sarah and Evan Pettit, Zachary Vogel, Analise Kite and Rainer Baker, Larissa Kite and Wil Alejo, and Devon Kite; great-grandchildren, Kyleigh, Cohen, Quinn, Brady, Reese, several nieces, nephews and cousins and her close friends, Joann and Glen Pomeroy. She was predeceased by 3 sisters: Marion Pomeroy, June and Jean Welton.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Friday morning, July 22, 2016 from 11 AM to 12 noon at the United Presbyterian Church, 58 East St., Walton, where services will be held at 12 noon with the Rev. Dr. Lisa Ruth Mays, officiating. Burial will follow in Walton Cemetery. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
