Martha H. Stanton, 93, of Walton passed away on Tuesday morning, August 23, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.

Martha was born on November 5, 1928 in Walton, the daughter of the late Charles and Eva (Conklin) Hoyt. On September 27, 1946 she married Clifford Stanton in Walton. He died on March 5, 1998.

Martha was a member of the Plymouth Church, where she volunteered her time, with church dinners and activities. She also was a big supporter of the Walton Booster Club. Her favorite time was with her family.

Martha is survived by her loving family, her children, Pauline Stanton of Johnson City; Pat (Del) Chesser of Wahiawa, Hawaii; Phyllis (Reed) McCall of Walton; Penny (John) Dix of Johnson City; Peter (Brenda) Stanton of Walton; Patrick (Ginger) Stanton of Honesdale, PA; son In Law, Ralph Merwin of Walton, NY; 21 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren, brothers, Bill and Douglas Hoyt ,longtime friend, Sandy Bullis of Walton, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Pam Merwin, grandchildren, Jamie Hiza, Krista Kehr, Andy and Wayne Stanton, brothers, Charles and Joe Hoyt, sisters, Mary Jane Neale, Evelyn Finch, Grace Wright, and Janet Hoyt.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022 at 1 PM at the Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton with Pastor Don Crossman, officiating. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
