Matthew Gardocki, 90, of Walton, formerly of Saddlebrook, NJ, passed away early Saturday morning, August 7, 2010 at Countryside Care Center, Delhi, following a long illness.

He was born on November 28, 1919 in Passaic, NJ, the son of the late Joseph and Victoria Muryasz Gardocki.

He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II.

Mr. Gardocki is a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Walton and St. Philip the Apostle Church in Saddlebrook, NJ.

Matthew was a Truck Driver retiring from Pantasote Company in Passaic, NJ. Following his retirement he and his wife Josephine moved to Walton in 1995.

Besides his wife Josephine of Walton, Mr. Gardocki is survived by his sons: Matthew (Maria Eleanor) Gardocki of Fairlawn, NJ, Gregory Gardocki of Sandisfield, MA, Thomas (Carol) Gardocki of Paramus, NJ and Ronald (Deborah) Gardocki of Rochelle Park, NJ; one daughter: Joanne (Richard) Rocca of Saddlebrook, NJ; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Friends and family are invited to call from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Vander Plaat Memorial Home, South 113 Fairview Ave., Paramus, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at St. Philip the Apostle Church in Saddlebrook, NJ. Burial will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Saddlebrook, NJ.
