Merton J. "Butch" Gladstone, 62 of Walton , passed away Sunday May 9, 2004 in Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City, after a short illness.

Butch was born in Walton, on November 11, 1941 the son Kenneth and Margaret Jackson Gladstone. He was a graduate of Walton Central School, and Williamsport Tech, Williamsport PA. He served his country in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam.

He was a Machinist, employed by Amphenol Corp., Sidney, retiring 2 months ago. He was of the protestant faith, attending the Northfield Community Church. He married the former Barbara Ander. She died on October 8, 2000.

He is survived by his mother, Margaret Bailey, Walton; 4 sons, Mark, Michael, Matthew and Ward; 6 grandchildren; and one brother: Martin K. "Mike" Gladstone of Walton; several nieces, nephews & cousins. He was predeceased by his father Kenneth, on October 20, 1975.

A graveside service will be held on Friday May 14, 2004 at 1:00 PM at Walton Cemetery with the Rev, James F. Martin, officiating. There are no calling hours.
