Miguel A. Ramirez, 72, of Downsville, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, December 6, 2009 at home in Downsville.

Miguel was born November 4, 1937 in Puerto Rico, the son of the late Dimitrio and Juanita (Perez) Ramirez. He was employed for many years by the City Of New York for the Department of Utilities.

He moved to Downsville in 1995, following retirement to enjoy the country life. He enjoyed hunting, watching the New York Yankees, and taking his daily walk over town. He was a faithful member of the Church of the Holy Family, Downsville.

He is survived by a sister, Margarita Almodovar, Puerto Rico; sister-in-law, Luz Ramirez, New Jersey, several nieces, nephews and cousins, and his best friend, Henry Bulls, of the Bronx. He was predeceased by a brother, Dimitrio, and a sister, Gladys.

Services will be held at a date and time to be announced. Arrangements are by Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
