Walton, Nancy C. Picinich, 73 formerly of Walton, passed away Wednesday evening January 14, 2004 in the Robert Packer Hospital Sayre, PA. after a short illness.
Mrs. Picinich was born on August 30,1930 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of John and Margaret Chiusano. On February 22, 1953 she married Dr. William F. Picinich in Brooklyn. He died on November 27, 2000.
She was a Clerk, employed by American Express Airlines and later was an assistant to the Town of Walton Clerk. Mrs Picinich was a member of St. John the Baptist Church of Walton and later of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church of Oneonta. She was also member of the Walton Veteran Club Auxillary of Walton. She was a loving mother and grandmother who belonged to the "Greatest Mother, Grandmother and Aunt in the world Club" She loved spend as much time as possible with her precious grandchildren, and to shop with her "shopping partner" and grandaughter Ciara.
She is survived by two sons, William J. and Tina Picinich of Walton, David A. and Leslie Picinich of Oneonta; five grandchildren: Nathan, Ciara, Zachary, Alec, and Abigail; one great grandson Steven; a brother Charles Chiusano of Pelham, NY; and one sister, Madeline Bosco, Brooklyn. She was predeceased by her beloved husband "Doc" Picinich, and her sister Marie Araneo.
The family will receive friends Friday January 16, 2004 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St Walton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Oneonta with the Rev. Edward Ryan officiating.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Mrs. Picinich's memory to St. Judes Children Hospital or the American Heart Association. Memorial contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.
