Nellie Danowski, 80 of Walton passed away Sunday, April 16, 2006 in Delaware Valley Hospital, after a short illness.

Nellie was born in Kelsey, the daughter of the late Konstanty and Tekla Yankowski Franskevicz. She was a graduate of Hancock High School. She married Victor Danowski on June 22, 1947 in Hancock.

Nellie loved to go fishing, antiques, growing flowers, playing bingo, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Victor Danowski, three daughters: Kathleen and Frank Schmit of Gouverneur, Sharon Michael of Herkimer, Annette and Michael Casacci of Canandaigua, 6 grandchildren, Amy, Ryan and Amy, Dana and Shauna, Eric, Luke and Andrea, and Brad, 3 great-grandchildren, Ashlea, Jack, and John, a brother, Edward Franskevicz, Hancock, 3 sisters, Tofka Zaczek, Mt Upton, Anna Mapes, Walton, and Helen Anderson, Binghamton, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by 3 sisters, Mary Verry, Frances Benowski, and Jennie Seaman.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Wednesday April 19, 2006 from 9 to 11 AM at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St, Walton, A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Church, 17 Benton Ave., Walton, with the Rev. Edward Ryan officiating. Burial will be in Walton Cemetery.
