Nora Shaw, 83 a former resident of Delhi, passed away early Sunday morning, November 2, 2008 at Countryside Care Center after a long illness.

Nora was born in Brooklyn on September 25, 1925 the daughter of the late Edward and Sadie (Dorsey) Hughes. She was employed by General Data Com of Danbury, Connecticut for many years. After retirement she moved to Florida and later to Delhi. She was a member of the Parkinson's Support Group, Delhi.

Nora loved walking, dogs, especially poodles, and was known as a worker who helped others ahead of herself. "Would that we could all be as generous and giving, even till the end. Rest in Peace, Grandma"

Nora is survived by a daughter, Dolores (Kevin) Nevins, Walton; 3 grandchildren, Travis (Theresa Manginelli) Nevins; Jesse Nevins, Leon Nevins, great grand-daughter, Alexis, 2 brothers, Raymond Hayes and William (Francine) Hayes, both of Florida; several nieces, nephews and cousins, special friends, Terry Raynor and Liz Hawley, both of Delhi. She was predeceased by 5 brothers, Thomas, George, John, and Edward Hughes, Allen Hayes, 2 sisters, Dorothy Hayes and Rita Hughes and special friend Frances Barnhart who passed away on October 30, 2008.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
