Ogden B. Foote, 93, a life long Walton resident, passed away on Friday afternoon, February 4, 2011 at O'Connor Hospital, Delhi following a long illness.

Ogden was born on September 1, 1917 in Walton, the son of the late John and Julia (Buckbee) Foote. He was married to his beloved wife of 65 years, the former Ruth Scofield, on November 11, 1945 at the First Baptist Church in Walton. Ogden owned and operated the family farm on Walton Mountain where he and his wife raised their five children. He was employed by Bendix in Sidney from 1953 until 1970 and was employed as a Laboratory Technician by Breakstone's, in Walton for 23 years until his retirement in 1993. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of Walton and attended the First Baptist Church of Walton with his family.

Ogden was a devoted father and grandfather, he enjoyed square dancing and in his younger years he also liked to roller skate and ice skate.

Ogden is survived by his loving family, his wife, Ruth; five children: Virginia A. (James) Byrne of Tannersville, Jerry O. (Dolores Fogarty) Foote of Walton, Linda (Doug) McLaughlin of Albany, Paul (Lori) Foote of Sidney, and Lisa (Mike) Clapperton of Masonville; seven grandchildren, Heather Byrne Barnett, Bret McLaughlin, Bridget McLaughlin Rutherford, Jered, Paula and Andrew Foote, and Dennis Clapperton; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Rachel Rutherford .

Friends and family are invited to call at Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton on Thursday evening, February 10, from 6 to 8 PM and on Friday morning, February 11 from 10 to 11AM. At 11:00AM a memorial service will be held with Rev. Jay O'Connor, officiating.
