Pamela E. Merwin, 63, a lifelong resident of Walton passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Delaware Valley Hospital in Walton following a long illness.
Pam was born on March 25, 1948 in Walton the daughter Clifford and Martha (Hoyt) Stanton. On September 28, 1968 she married Ralph Merwin in Walton, New York at the Congregational Church.
Pam was employed by Countryside Care Center as a housekeeper. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed taking care of her family. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren playing sports, watching Walter racing stock cars, going to tea group, and birthday group.
Pam is survived by her loving family, her husband, Ralph, her mother, Martha Stanton, her children, Ralph (Regina) Merwin of Walton; Rhonda (Walter) McClenon of Walton, her grandchildren, Victoria (Sam), David, Trevor, Molly, Trenton, her great grandson, Braxton, her step daughters, Lorraine (Craig) Drake of Weiser, ID., Lynette Merwin of Rochester, NY; her step grandchildren, Brock Drake of ID, Jessica and Casey of Rochester, her brothers, Peter (Brenda) Stanton of Walton; Patrick (Ginger) Stanton of Honesdale, PA.; her sisters, Patricia (Dale) Chesser of Carlisle, PA.; Penny (John) Dix of Greensboro, NC.; Pauline Stanton of Binghamton, NY; Phyllis McCall (Reed Packer) of Walton, NY; her close friends, Sandra Bullis of Walton; Barb Gaye of Laurens; Pat Caffery of Walton; Betty Gransbury of Walton, Carol Garone, Jennifer Miller, Alta Holley, Bette and Jason Bojo of Walton; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Clifford Stanton, her grandmother, Eva Hoyt, her grandson, Cole Merwin.
The family would like to say a special thanks to all her hospice nurses, GJ, Pearl, Julia, Carol, Patty,Shirley and Laura.
Friends and family are invited to call on Monday morning, February 6, 2012 at the Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend Street, Walton, from 11AM to 12PM where services will be held at 12PM with the Rev. Donald Crossman, officiating. Burial will follow in the Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton.
