Pastor Kelvin J. McKnight, 48, of Walton went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 9, 2014.

Kelvin was born July 10, 1966 in Auburn, NY the son of the late James R. and Virginia Hargraves McKnight. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Air Force. On August 8, 1992 he married the former Penny Pomeroy at the Sidney Center United Methodist Church.

Kelvin was the Senior Pastor at the Riverside Alliance Church and was an IT Consultant for ACCO in Sidney. He enjoyed spending time with his family, church family and friends. He enjoyed playing Bean bag Toss and other games. He had been called previously to the Oneonta and then Sidney Missionary Alliance Churches.

Kelvin was a man who loved people. He was always there for his church family, his friends, his family and anyone else in need. He led by example, a kind man with a big heart.

Kelvin is survived by his loving family, his wife, Penny; his father in law and mother in law, Bob and Edna Pomeroy, his brothers, Kim (Tina) McKnight of Lusby, MD; James C. McKnight of Walton; his sister, Lisa Creason of Lusby MD; his sister in law, Peggy and Brian Gregory of Bloomville; and several Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and several close friends. He was predeceased by his mom and dad, James and Virginia.

Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 1 PM at the Riverside Missionary Alliance Church, 110 Stockton Avenue, Walton where services will be held at 1 PM with the Pastor Robert Goldenberg, officiating.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11AM at the Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Avenue, Walton with the Rev. Jeff Cutting, Officiating.
