Laauser, Jr.
May 27, 1945 – January 6, 2020
Paul A. Laauser, Jr., 74, of Walton passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2020 at UHS Wilson Medical Center following a brief illness.
Born May 27, 1945 in East Orange, NJ, he was the son of the late Paul Sr. and Louise Buhler Laauser.
Paul was one of the current Town Justices in Walton, a position in which he held for many years and former Village Justice in Walton. He proudly served our country in the United States Army from 1963-1967 achieving the rank of Sergeant. Paul started his law enforcement career with the Delaware County Sheriff's Office as a Deputy and retired as a Sergeant from the Walton Village Police Department, protecting the community with dignity and respect. Paul was also a former Fire Commissioner with the Walton Fire Department. He was a long time member of New Hope Community Church in Walton and the Sidney Elks Lodge #2175. Paul was an avid outdoorsmen and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Paul always looked forward to having a good meal at TA's Place and regularly followed the stock market.
Survivors include his children Brian Laauser (Cheryl) of Walton and Gina Gorshack (Jan) of Sidney; Sister Elsie Bergmayer of New Jersey and grandchildren Kyle Laauser, Taylor Laauser, Jonathon Gorshack and Nathan Gorshack. Paul is also survived by two great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Joan A. Winfield Laauser who passed away November 2, 2008, sister Ruth Santangelo and brother Richard Laauser.
Calling hours to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 10-1 P.M. at New Hope Community Church, 45 Stockton Avenue, Walton. A service to celebrate Paul's life will follow at 1 P.M. at the church with Pastor Larry Light officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
