Paul E. Miller, 91, of Mt. Pleasant Rd. died Tuesday Dec. 13 at home. Born May 30, 1920 on the family farm in Mundale, NY. He was the son of Floyd and Edith (Easson) Miller.
Paul graduated from Walton High School. He married Kathleen "Katie" Kilpatrick on August 11, 1946.
Paul drove fuel truck for GLF for 4 years then joined his brothers in the carpentry business. He enjoyed building to the age of 90. He loved the great outdoors and raised sheep and fruit trees. He found great joy in his Mt. Pleasant home watching sunsets and wild life and waving at friends and neighbors walking past his window.
He was an active member of the Walton United Presbyterian Church for over 70 years.
He was a charter member of the Oak Ridge Club, a retired member of the Walton Fire Department, and a 38-year member of the Walton Masonic Chapter.
Paul was predeceased by his wife, Katie in 2000. Also predeceasing him were his brothers Glenn and Stilson.
Survivors include his three daughters, Lindy (Jim) Taggart, Betsy (Rick) Weidenbach, both of Walton and Becky (Mike) Porter of Margaretville, also, six grandchildren, Kendra (Lee McDonald) Wiggans, Jed Porter, Kristin (Chad) Scott, Megan (Darren) Seel and Cory and Ryan Weidenbach. Six great grandchildren also graced his life, Holt and Kylee Wiggans, Lucas and Alexis Scott and Levi and Kendyll McDonald. Also surviving him is his very special nephew and his wife, Bob and Lorraine Miller and many other special nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 4 to 7PM at Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St. Walton. Funeral Services will be held at the Walton United Presbyterian Church on 58 East St. Walton on Friday, December 16, 2011 at 11AM with the Rev. Lisa Ruth Mays officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Paul's memory may be made to the Walton United Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice.
