Margaret J. "Peg" Constable, 71, of Walton passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, following a long illness.

Peg was born on February 17, 1943 in Canton, NY the daughter of the late Bruce and Readith (Wilson) Constable. She was a graduate of Canton High School and SUNY Cobleskill. She first worked after college graduation, with children at Abbott House in New York City. She later worked at Agway Energy as credit manager.

Although Peg never had children, she loved teaching and nurturing them. She also catered to the elderly aunts and uncles in her family. She also originated and organized the family history to create a family tree. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds that fed at her home. She was also a lover of parakeets and had many over the years. Peg also enjoyed making crafts that she gave to her family and friends.

Peg is survived by her cousins, Betty and Jack Constable of Walton, their children, Kim and Kathi and many other cousins.

Services for Peg will be held in the summer of 2014, around the time of the Constable family reunion. Burial will be in the family plot in Walton Cemetery. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral home, Walton.
