Obituary

Peggy Rocher, 66 of Walton, passed away on Sunday afternoon, October 28, 2007 at home following a long illness.

Peggy was born in Robertson County, Tennessee on June 30, 1941 the daughter of the late Felix and Minnie Sowell Phillips. On August 25, 1973 she married John Rocher in Walton. Peggy was a den mother when her children were young. She was also active in the PTA. Peggy was known for her deep faith, which carried her and her family through these last few years during her illness. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church, Walton where she taught Sunday school for over 30 years.

Peggy is survived by her loving husband, John; 4 daughters, Laura (John) Bair, Walton; Susan (Dennis) McLain, Breckenridge, Colorado; Tami (Robert) Knapp, Walton; Diane Gribble, Sidney; one son, Dan (Ruth) Gribble, Inwood, West Virginia; grandchildren, Eric, Anna, Aaron, Brandi, Bobby, Michael, and Samantha; 11 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Walton (Henrietta) Phillips, Russellville, Kentucky; 1 sister, Juanita Birdwell, Newport Richie, Florida; brother in laws, Paul Stuard, Adams, Tennessee; Johnce Lane, Land O' Lakes, Florida; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by 2 sisters, Evelyn Lane, and Elnor Stuard.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the First Baptist Church, Walton on Saturday, November 3, 2007 from 9 to 11 AM where services will be held at 11 AM with the Rev. Jay O'Connor, officiating. Burial will follow in Walton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers it was Peggy's wish that donations be made toward the First Baptist Church campaign to pay down the mortgage on the 61 Townsend St. property.
