Peggy L. Shafer, 76, of Walton formerly of Wappingers Falls passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 25, 2014 at O'Connor Hospital in Delhi, New York.

Peggy was born on November 12, 1938 in Conway, AK the daughter of the late Luther L. and Nadine (Fulmer) McCracken.

Peggy was a Bus Driver for A & E in Poughkeepsie. She then went to work for Buchanan Transport in Walton. She was a member of Delaware County Senior Citizens where she was awarded the Outstanding Senior Citizen in 2013. She was a former Girl Scout Leader, a member of Wiccopee Fire Dept., and EMS in Hopewell Junction, and a member of Wappingers Falls American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She attended Our Place in Walton where Walton Seniors meet. She enjoyed creating ceramics, crocheting, and crafts.

Peggy is survived by her loving family, her children, Carla Shook of Hudson; Raymond Shook of Poughkeepsie; Linda and James Foote of Hyde Park; Dianne and Butch Seebruch of Stamfordville; Nancy and Paul Endress of Walton; Donna and Mike Connelly of Poughkeepsie; her grandchildren, James, Matthew, Dustin, Daniel, Ryan, Colleen, Christine, Eric, Brian, Geoffrey, Brittany, her great grandchildren, Camden, Jack, Tinsley, Jason, Oliver, Sean, and Nathan, who is on the way, her brothers and sister in law, Ed and Erlene Connor of NC; James Connor, her sisters, Sandra Connor of NJ; Marna Connor of NJ; her special friends, Bonnie and Dennis Feller of Hudson, NY; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter, Terri Shook, her grandson, Cody Endress, her brothers, Carlton Connor and Paul McCracken.

Friends and relatives are invited to call on Monday, December 29, 2014 from 11 AM to 1 PM at the New Hope Community Church, 45 Stockton Avenue, Walton where services will be held at 1 PM with the Rev. Larry Light, officiating. Arrangements are with Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
