Regina G. "Penny" Seiden, 70, of Walton, passed away Tuesday evening, April 15, 2008 in the Delaware Valley Hospital, after a long struggle.

Penny was born in Manhattan on January 13, 1938 the daughter of the late Leo and Regina (Dorsey) Connors. Shortly after birth her family noticed that her head was "shiny as a new penny", hence the nickname "Penny" On April 13, 1972 she married Philip Seiden. Penny was employed as a rural mail carrier for the USPS in Mt. Sinai, NY. She also sold real estate, was a member of the Mt Sinai Fire Dept., and the Port Jefferson Ambulance Corp., serving as trustee. In 2002 she and Phil moved to Walton where they made many friends. Penny loved planting colorful flowers so that Phil could take care of them. She also loved watching the deer in her back yard that Phil coaxed near with his charm.

Penny is survived by her loving husband, partner and co-conspirator, Phil; daughters: Dawn Vater of LA, Kim Macomber of NY, Jennifer Lewis of NM, Keri Seiden of NY; sons: Mark Seiden of Germany and Eric Seiden of NJ; 5 grandchildren: Seth, Rachel, Hans, Keri and Theresa; sisters: Merry Del Monte of FL; Lynda Martinez of CA, Peggy Miller of GA, Christine Connors of AR and Nora Connors of CA; a brother: Patrick Connors of GA; step-mother:Barbara Connors Aycock of FL; several nieces, nephews, cousins; a good friend: Carol Buchanan of NY; and the many friends she made along the way.

Friends and relatives are invited to join Phil and his family for a celebration of Penny's life at Danny's Restaurant, Walton on April 26, 2008 from 6 to 8 PM. Memorial contributions in Penny's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Assn., Catskill Area Hospice, or the Office of the Aging, Delhi.
