Penny M. Smith, 57, of Bainbridge passed away on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown, following a long illness.

Penny was born on August 24, 1965 in Pahokee, FL the daughter of Moye and Maxine (Raby) Moon. On May 19, 2001 she married Daniel Smith.

Penny was a taxi driver for A & D Transport in Walton. She enjoyed eating out at restaurants, taking trips to Florida and spending time with her family.

Penny is survived by her loving family, her husband, Daniel Smith of Bainbridge, parents, Moye and Maxine Moon of FL; children, Heather Smith of Walton; Cortney Stadler of Bainbridge, ; Ashely Smith of Walton; Tiffany Stadler of FL; Taylor Stadler of FL; grandchildren, Cannon, Isaiah, Emerica, Zayden, Connor, Bella, Tayson, brother, Bryan (Missy) Moon of TX; sister, Sheila (Jim) Scofield of OK., and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her son, Chad Stadler, and grandson, Colten Slone.

Services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
