Obituary

Peter J. Lamberto Phd., 70, of Hamden, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at Concourse Nursing and Rehabilitation Hospital, Bronx, following a short illness.

Peter was born on June 22, 1941 in Yonkers, the son of the late James and Helen (Saletnik) Lamberto. He married the former Sherrye-Lee Scalzo on March 30, 1985 at Wappingers Falls, New York. He was a graduate of Manhatttan Prep, Manhattan College, St. John's University, New Mexico where he was awarded dual Phd's in Mathmatics and Physics. Following his discharge from the Air Force he worked at IBM, Wappingers Falls as a system programer, he then became a car mechanic, and later he was employed for many years at Readers Digest as a computer and IT specialist. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force. He was a member of the Walton Veterans Club. Peter enjoyed making model ships and railroads, gardening, camping in the Adirondack Mountains with his family and friends, and playing country on the guitar. As a young man he appeared on the Ted Mack Amateur Hour,

He is survived by his loving wife, Sherrye-Lee, a son James Lamberto, his mother, Helen, his mother in law Ruthe E. Scalzo, a sister Gerry Lamberto, 2 grandchildren, Carli and Dylan, special friend and adopted son, David Weiss, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father, James.

A celebration of his life will be held at a date and time to be announced.
