Peter Matray, 52 of Walton, formerly of Yonkers, died Thursday afternoon, January 8, 2009 at O'Connor Hospital, Delhi following a long illness.

Peter was born in Setmar, Romania, on October 24, 1956, the son of the late Lorand Viktor and Juliana (Marita) Matray.

Peter was married to Maria Szecsi on September 13, 2006.

He was self employed as a Handyman in Yonkers, before coming to Walton.

Mr. Matray is survived by his wife, Maria Matray of Walton and his sister, Jutka (Mike) Orha of Downsville, and a niece, Ramona, and several cousins. He was predeceased by his father, Lorand.

Friends are invited to call on Peter's family on Monday morning, January 12, 2009 from 9:00am to 10:30am at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St., Walton. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 AM at Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 17-25 Benton Avenue, Walton.

Burial at Paige Cemetery, Downsville will take place in the Spring.
