Peter G. Raaymann, 62, of Walton passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 14, 2014 at Albany Medical Center in Albany.

Peter was born on January 6, 1952 in Duisburg, Germany the son of the late Peter and Agathe (Mushka) Raaymann. On September 28, 1979 he married the former Cheryl Hartz in Great Neck, NY. He proudly served our country in the U. S. Army. Peter then continued his work for the government as a clerk for the U. S. Postal Service in Walton. He was also a member of the Vets Club and Royale Oasis in Walton.

Peter was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the natural beauty of Walton and Delaware County. Much of his spare time was spent on his property admiring the magnificent landscapes. Peter truly believed the people in his community were the most pleasant he had ever known. He may be most remembered for his "take it, or leave it" personality; always speaking what was on his mind.

Peter is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl, his aunt Bridgette Nobel, of FL; his mother-in-law, Mary Hartz of Great Neck, NY; his sister-in-law, Gina Hartz-Urda and her husband Joe Urda of Great Neck, NY; and many other close, caring, and loving friends in Walton and Long Island.

A celebration of Peter's life will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
