Priscilla Mary Catherine Lakin Rutherford, 63, of Walton, NY, passed away Monday, May 7, 2007 at home after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born January 14, 1944 in Sidney, NY, the daughter of the late Harry and Veronica (Dominger) Lakin .

Priscilla married John M. Rutherford, Sr. on June 29, 1963 in Walton. She was a daycare provider for many years and loved children and taking care of them. Priscilla was a gifted person who loved crafts, singing, and hairdressing for her friends and family. She also was an excellent cook and homemaker.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, John Rutherford, Sr. of Walton; three sons: John and Nicki Rutherford Jr. of Walton and grandchildren, Nicholas, Justine and Christian; Samuel and Vicki Rutherford of Stamford; Michael and Colleen Rutherford of Brookfield, NY and grandchildren Makayla and Emma; one daughter, Susan Maruszewski of Mt. Upton; sisters: Veronica and Bill Johnson of Melbourne, FL, Harriette Demarest of Rome, NY, Anne and Harold Scott of Unadilla, NY; Betsy and Bill Jester of Meridale; brothers: Harry P. Lakin and fiancée Bonnie Tripp of Sidney Center, NY, her twin brother Thomas and Rae Ann Lakin of Sidney, NY and Richard and Lorie Lakin of Norwich, NY; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary and Richard Hafele of Walton, sister-in-law, Pat Rutherford of Endwell, NY, sister-in-law, Marie Rutherford of North Lawrence, NY; an uncle, Hugh Rutherford of Walton; an aunt, Ann Karnitz of Candor, NY and aunt, Thelma (Midge) Riley of Tampa, FL, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by a very special cat named Inky.

Family and friends are invited to call Thursday, May 10, 2007 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the United Presbyterian Church, corner of North and East Streets, Walton. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm at the church with the Rev Thomas Ballard officiating.

Interment will be in Walton Cemetery, Walton.
