It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ralph W. Taylor, who left us on January 22, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on June 28, 1933, in Morris NY to His parents, Ralph Wardell Taylor and Helen Jeanette Pickens. Ralph married Alice Taylor of Walton, NY on December 13, 1953, in Walton, NY. Ralph was a lifelong resident of Walton, New York, where he dedicated his life to the farming community. He was the proud owner of Taylor's Jersey Farm on Gosper Rd, where he cultivated his love for agriculture and his commitment to the land.
Ralph was a cherished member of the Delaware County, NYS, and the National Jersey Associations, where his passion for dairy farming and Jersey cattle was evident to all who knew him. In addition to his contributions to the agricultural community, Ralph served as a 4-H Junior Leader, inspiring and mentoring generations of young farmers with his knowledge, dedication, and love for the farming lifestyle.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Alice, children, and grandchildren. A daughter, Nancy (Richard) Burgey of Rochester, New York; their children Cindy Burgey and Linda Burgey. A daughter, Janet (Edward Budine) of Walton, New York; their children Jaclyn Budine and Jason Budine. A son, William (Beth Roberts) Taylor of Oldwick, New Jersey; his children Shirley (Josh) Spencer and Alexis (Kevin) McDermott. Along with their mother Gretchen Taylor. Including twelve great grandchildren 2 cousins and close family friends: families of Karson James and Nancy Pierce.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father as well as his in-laws, and special friend Stephen Pierce.
Calling hours for Ralph will be held on Monday January 27th, 2025, from 11-1pm at the New Hope Community Church located at 45 Stockton Ave, Walton, NY 13856.
Service will begin at 1pm at New Hope Church with Pastor Larry Light and Pastor Christine Lindeburg officiating.
Memorial contributions in Ralph's name may be made to one's choice or to Helios Care located at 297 River Street Service Rd Ste 1, Oneonta, NY 13820 www.helioscare.org. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff from Helios Care who took very special care of Ralph and his family during this difficult time.
