Ray H. Murphy, 85, of Walton, passed away on March 13, 2019 at Bassett Healthcare, following a short illness.

Ray was born in Brooklyn on January 12, 1934 the son of the late James and Janet Woodburn Murphy. He worked for many years at Breakstone's, Walton as a machine operator. He also worked in a Bluestone Quarry. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting and was a big New York Yankees fan. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

Ray is survived by his step children, Albert and Cindy Covey, York, PA and James Covey, Norwich, NY. His sister, Barbara and Albro Tietjen, Walton, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Ray was predeceased by a step son, Donald Covey and brother Peter Murphy.

A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 12:00PM in Walton Cemetery, 55 Fancher Ave, Walton. Arrangements are under the direction of Courtney Funeral Home, Walton.
