Raymond V. Corgill, 92, a former resident of Walton and Downsville, passed away Monday, August August 3, 2009 at Countryside Care Center, following a long illness.

Raymond was born on June 3, 1917 in Pepacton, the son of the late James and Cora (Spencer) Corgill. He was a horse and dairy farmer for most of his life. He loved horses and enjoyed riding and training them on his farm and later at Vernon Downs.

Raymond is survived by his daughter Joan Zorda of Walton, grandsons, Todd and Mark Wier, great grandchildren, Allison, Owen and Parker, several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by 3 sisters, Helen Reynolds, Merle Whitby, Regina Corgill, and a brother George Corgill.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday afternoon, August 5, 2009 at 2 PM at Paige Cemetery, Downsville with the Rev. Dale Ashby, officiating. There are no calling hours.
