Raymond A. Edwards, 85, of Walton passed away on Friday, October 20, 2017 at Robinson Terrace in Stamford, following a long illness.

Raymond was born November 9, 1931 in Downsville, NY the son of the late Orville and Gertrude (Quick) Edwards. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1950 to 1954. He married the former, Helen Birdsall, on October 31, 1952 in Callicoon.

Raymond was a Business Manager for Sidney Federal Credit Union in Walton for many years. He was a member of the Truman C. Tobey Post #32 American Legion, and Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post 270. He was one of the founders of the Walton Booster Club where he served as the first President. His interest was in sports, coaching football, girls softball and basketball. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with his Coachman Club.

Raymond is survived by his loving family, his wife, Helen of Walton; his son, David Edwards of Walton, grandchildren, Camie, Shawni, Justin, Morgan, and great grandson, Maverick, and several cousins.
