Raymond E. MacGibbon, 82 of Walton, passed away Friday morning, October 5, 2007 in Fox Hospital, Oneonta, after a long illness.

Ray was born in Walton, on August 24, 1925 the son of the late Donald and Maude (Lambrecht) MacGibbon. He married the former Laura Jean Campbell on November 21, 1945 in Walton. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Walton American Legion and VFW. Ray enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and vegetables.

He formerly owned a dairy farm in Marvin Hollow.

Ray is survived by his wife, Jean, 2 sons, Kenneth (Dixie) MacGibbon, North Carolina, Keith MacGibbon, Genoa, NY; 2 daughters, Cathy (Donald) Elwood, Monticello, NY; Karen (Edward) White, Hancock, 12 grandchildren, Annette Kelly, Tom (Dawn) MacGibbon, Gary (Sharon) MacGibbon, Cammie, Nicola, and Bobbie-Jo Elwood, Stacey Heston, Edward, Kristy White, Sara (Brent) Nichols, James, Mark White, 8 great grandchildren, Ryan, Nicole, Joshua, Derrick, Amanda, Garrett, Grayson, and Daxtin, 3 brothers, Robert (Betty MacGibbon, Walton, Gerald (Eleanor) MacGibbon, Walton, Clyde MacGibbon, Texas; 2 sisters, Janet Fletcher, Walton; Alda Holley, Florida; 4 sister in laws, Audrey MacGibbon, Faye Neice, both of Walton; Camilla Peluso, Tennessee, Jane Benna, North Carolina, brother in law, Donald Campbell, Delancy, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Sunday, October 7, 2007 from 2 to 4 PM at the Clark, Winter & Courtney Funeral Home, 25 Townsend St. Walton where services will be held on Monday at 11 AM with the Rev. Mark Del Giudice, officiating. Interment will follow in Walton Cemetery.
