Obituary

Reta A. (Place) Cleaveland, 74, of Oneonta, formerly of Sidney. passed away on Friday morning, September 10, 2010 at Bridgewater Rehabilitation Center, Binghamton, following a long illness.

Mrs. Cleaveland was born on October 31, 1935 in Lexington, the daughter of the late Marion and Evelyn (Whitney) Place of Westkill.

Reta was married to Adelbert Cleaveland, he passed away on August 6, 1997.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will truly be missed by her family and friends.

Mrs. Cleaveland is survived by three sons: Peter Cleaveland of Oneonta, Adelbert Cleaveland Jr. and Daniel Cleaveland Sr. both of Cooperstown; one daughter: Paula Cleaveland and long time partner, Douglas Lindberg of Otego; Dear to her heart grandchildren: Alycia Cleaveland of Sidney, Laura Cleaveland of Oneonta, Adelbert, Austin and Amity Cleaveland all of Cooperstown; Daniel Cleaveland Jr. and Levi Cleaveland both of Cooperstown; her dearly loved great-grand"babies": Tyler Guile, Kaitelynn Kenny, TyLa Howard and Lila Galbreth; her sisters: Katherine (Place) Howard of Prattsville, Hilda (Place) Faoro of Esperance, Dorothy (Place) Reynolds of Worcester, Marguerite (Place) Cross of Bearsville, Marian (Place) Platt of Louisiana; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday afternoon, September 13, 2010 at Hamden Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Del Giudice officiating.
