Rhoda "Irene" Marlett completed her journey of life on October 18, 2024.  Born on February 26, 1943, at Stevens Hospital, Walton, NY, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Frances Haverly Stevens.

Irene graduated from Walton Central School, Class of 1961 and Central City Business Institute, Syracuse. She was employed at The Delaware Telephone Company, Marlett's Garage and Chris Kar, Inc., all family-owned businesses. She was also employed by MGS, Inc., Denver, PA, based in Walton, and Townsend Elementary School as a special needs aid.

Irene was a member of the United Methodist Church, Walton, for over 50 years and active in the New Hope Community Church, Walton. She loved to quilt, attend auctions, walks, photography, work in the garden, watch hummingbirds, travel, spend time with family and friends and take in the beauty of each day. A lifelong resident of Walton, Irene married Lloyd Marlett June 5, 1965.  A devoted wife, mother and grandmother she is survived by her husband Lloyd, daughter Karen (Patrick) Heneghan, Wallingford, CT, son Christopher (Jill) Marlett, Walton, NY and granddaughter Alexis Marlett, Monchs Corner, SC. Brothers Fred Stevens, Lake Dallas, TX, William Stevens, Redding, CA and sister Susan Bonsignore, North Fort Myers, FL. Also, surviving are several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Friday October 25, 2024, at 11am, at New Hope Community Church with Rev. Larry Light officiating. Private burial will be held at the Walton Cemetery.
