Richard W. "Red" Brundege, 84, a long time resident of Walton passed away Tuesday morning, September 27, 2011 at O'Connor Hospital, Delhi, following a long illness.
Red was born on September 21, 1927 in Rock Royal, the son of the late Wesley and Ruth (Schriber) Brundege. He was a graduate of Deposit Central School. He was married to the former Patricia A.Reynolds. She died on July 27, 2011.
Red was employed at S.J. Bailey's, Walton and terminal manager at Cossitt Motor Express, Norwich. He was a former member of the Walton Fire Dept., Club Royale Oasis and the Walton Lodge of the Free and Accepted Masons.
Red enjoyed horseracing, hunting, fishing, coin collecting, and sports on tv.
Red is is survived by his loving family, his children, Jeanne (Gerald) Harris of South New Berlin, NY, Linda Brundege of Walton, NY, Debbie Hessinger, Ellen Pingrey of Binghamton, NY and four sons: Richard (Roberta) Brundege of Greene, NY, John (Tracy) Brundege of FL, Donald (Lynn) Hessinger of South Kortright, NY, Ronald Hessinger of Syracuse, NY; his grandchildren, Julita, Tim, Kathryn, Sarah, Brandi, Jennifer, John, Tammy, Tina, Lee, Keith, Jacob, Tracy, Beaver, RJ, Jeff, 9 great grandchildren; sister, Mary Van Valkenburg, Afton; brothers and sister in law, Pete (Jane) Reynolds, Thomas (Sandy) Reynolds, Jim (Bert) Reynolds all of Sidney Center; Dorhtea Brundege, Franlkin; Anna Brundege, Walton; Louise (Junior) Decker of Deposit; Jean (Tim) McCumber of Walton; special friend Terry Dolph, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. ;
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 11 AM at Sidney Center Highland Cemetery with Pastor Marv Root, officiating.
