Richard Chouinard, 77, of Montour Falls, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2011, at Seneca View Nursing Facility, Montour Falls.

Mr. Chouinard is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Peterson Chouinard; daughter, Suzanne (Jack) Cole of Walton; and son, Richard (Christine) Chouinard of Montour Falls; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Brian Magnin) Cole, Daniel (Danielle) Cole and Timothy (Brittany Patterson) Cole, Wallace (Erin) Chouinard, Andrew Chouinard and Ashley Chouinard; great-granddaughter, Madeline Grace Magnin.

Mr. Chouinard along with his wife, Barbara, owned and operated the Noel Gift Shop in Watkins Glen for over 15 years. He previously operated the Pine Hollow Nursery in Greenlawn, Long Island, for 35 years and was a member of the Watkins-Montour Rotary Club.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 133 N. Genesee St., Montour Falls, from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2011, followed by a memorial service. His daughter, the Rev. Suzanne Cole will officiate.
